CRW070108D Voyage: July 01- 07, 2008
CRT070208D Voyage: July 02- 08, 2008

Return: July 08, 2008

Equipment

At Sea Base scouts will enjoy life on a 41 foot Morgan sail boat. During the course of the voyage they will fish, swim, snorkel, and of course navigate their boats and man the sails.

Proper equipment and preparation will help the crews have a more enjoyable experience.

We will review gear necessities and various options to meet the needs of this trip. Proper foot ware, shirts and sun protection will be essential.

Preparation

Over the next six months we will provide multiple opportunities for the crew members to prepare.

Do not consider these activities as optional. Everyone's experience will be impacted by any one member not being fully prepared physically and mentally.

Please read the Sea Base Preparation page.

Previous Journal

Then we suggest you read the Journal of Crew CRS062604C which covers much detail of the our 2004 voyage.

Pre Voyage Planning and Preparation

Several members of Troop 572 experienced Sea Base in 2004. We will leverage this past experience as we build our plans to prepare our crews for the 2008 adventure.

You can start by reviewing the online version of the "Florida National High Adventure Sea Base Participant Guide" or that longer hard copy you were provided at our December meeting. We also encourage you to explore the Official Sea Base website. There you will find the Leaders Guide section and other usefull information. On that site you will find basic information for planning the trip, building a team, physical conditioning, what to bring and what to expect.
