Troop 572 Parent Handbook

This section is dedicated to providing parents of scouts in Troop 572 or those considering Troop 572 basic information. Our troop was formed in the fall of 2001 (HISTORY) in response to the growing scouting population in the Sterling/Potomac Falls community. We have leveraged the experience of many units and leaders to establish the foundation of this unit. We adhere to the core values and implementation guidelines of the scouting program.

• ScoutParents is part of the BSA National Parenting Initiative. The intent is to provide parents with information and tools to help them understand their importance in becoming more involved with their Scouts. In turn, we hope that Scouts will stay with the program longer and have a better experience hopefully working their way to Eagle Scout.
• BSA Online Learning Center: the place to go for online Youth protection, Fast Start, Safety Afloat and Safe Swim Defense training. BSA is adding additional resources frequently and it is all free.

If you note something that could be improved or have ideas of program enhancements that you are willing to assist us implement, please let us know. We are always in search of a better way to implement the scouting program and need every parents assistance to make this a quality program for our youth.
