Equipment
Philmont is probably the most strengous and therefore difficult of all the BSA National High Adventure programs. Proper equipment and preperation will help the crews have a more enjoyable experience. We will review gear necessities and various options to meet the needs of this trip. Proper footware and backpack will need to be addressed now, thus allowing each participant time to get acustom to and break in their equipment. |
Preperation
Over the next 12 months we will provide multiple opportunities for the crew members to prepare. Do not consider these activities as optional. Everyone's experience will be impacted by any one member not being fully prepared physically and mentally. Please read the Philmont Preperation page. |

| Previous Journal Several members of Troop 572 have experienced Philmont over the years. This ranges to adult members that went as youth to as recent as 2006 where Joey Zedan went with an NCAC Council Contengent and Troop 956 scouts. We will leverage this past experience as we build our plans to prepare our crews for the 2007 adventure. You can start by reviewing the "Offocial BSA Philmont" web site. On that site you will find basic information for planning the trip, building a team, physical conditioning, what to bring and what to expect. Then we suggest you read the Journal of Crew 624D which covers much detail of the most recent trek Scoutmaster Zedan was on. |
