Welcome to the crew 624D1 web
site. We hope that you find it enjoyable and informative. My
name is Tom and published this site so that others could share
our Philmont experience with us. I have trekked Philmont
twice now and look forward to a couple more in the future. I
found it to offer a time that allowed me to be close to my daughters
in their mid teen years. It also gave me the opportunity to share
the experience with my brothers and sisters as well as other
friends in scouting.
Our crew consisted of eight family members
from three states Virginia, Michigan and Illinois plus four scouts
from one of our Boy Scout Troops. Dan, my older brother, was
the most experienced trekker. This was his fifth time to trek
Philmont. He has managed to Trek Philmont at least once in every
decade since the 1960's when he was a youth in Boy Scout Troop
572, Greenfield District, Detroit Area Council. Currently Dan
is active in scouting as the Troop 44 Committee Chairman in Illinois
Three Fire Council and assist in several district roles. I want
to thank Dan for providing the content of much of this site and
several of the photos.
