New Eagle Joey Caccia Congratulations to our newest Eagle Scout, Joey Caccia! His Court of Honor was held on February 12th.
New Eagle Scout Zedan Congratulations to our newest Eagle Scout, Zach Zedan! His Court of Honor, August 16, was well attended and our troop community learned how fortunate Zach is for growing up in such an historic and devoted Boy Scout Family.

Eagle Project - Ian Cunninghamthumbnail
May 19-20, 2012

Support Ian's project of building an outdoor science lab with eco-friendly picnic tables for Seneca Ridge Middle School. As part of the science lab, we will create a butterfly ecosystem that the 6th graders will use during their school year. The project will start at 8:00 AM on Saturday the 19th, and if necessary at 8:00AM on the 20th.   Please RSVP to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Per troop tradition, we ask that each scout family bring an appetizer to share at the reception afterwards.  Scouts are asked to arrive early for set-up and/or help clean up.  Those participating in the ceremony are asked to arrive no later than 4:30 pm. Scouts are to wear their Class A uniforms.  We encourage ALL scouts to attend this event!

Jambo2013png2013 Jamboree in West Virginia--Registration is Open

Scouts from across the nation will attend the National Scout Jamboree (NSJ) in order to advance the goals of Scouting. The National Capital Area Council sponsors 12 Jamboree Troops and 4 Jamboree Venture Crews with 36 Scouts and 4 Scouters in each Troop/Crew – these are NOT a lot of slots for the second largest Council in the nation.  Scouts:  The Jamboree is first come first serve.  If interested, recommend you register as soon as possible.  You pay a small registration fee and may cancel later if you cannot make it.  PAYMENT LINK Visit 2013 NSJ Link

Northern Tier crews paddle deep into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and the Quetico Provincial Park for canoeing, hiking, exploring, and some of the best freshwater fishing anywhere.   Northern Tier is the only official BSA outfitter in the million-acre Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and in Canada. Troop 572 and Venture Crew 572 are now planning to execute this National High Adventure program – like Philmont and Sea Base.  Northern Tier is the only non-lottery, first come-first serve BSA National High Adventure program. Visit Northern Tier.  We will be sending 4 crews. $300 deposit per scout is due now. Anticipated cost is $1600.
